Mediated encounters with nature are the themes of several of my projects, both past and present. One project centered aound the use of a streaming webcam in my garden. Set down low amongst the vegetation of my urban garden, the camera captured changes in flora, passing fauna and insects in a subtle, real-time document. In addition to the streaming capabilities, the camera captured images daily as a record. Moving from a winter and early spring garden in which the ground is bare, to a jungle-like setting at the height of the summer, the images tracked seasonal changes. |
